Glowsince is a private progress journal for wellness and beauty routines. Your journal belongs to you. This page explains, in plain language, what is stored and where.
1Your journal stays on your device
Everything you enter, including rituals, products, journal pages, photos, mood, water, fasting and body notes, is saved in your own browser or Home Screen app on your own device. We do not run accounts, and we do not receive a copy of your journal.
2Dropbox and Google Drive backup and sync (optional)
If you tap Connect Dropbox, Glowsince asks Dropbox for access to a private app folder only. It cannot see anything else in your Dropbox. When you choose Back up, the app locks your journal with a password you pick, then saves that locked file in the folder. The password never leaves your device, so neither Glowsince nor Dropbox can read the backup. If you lose the password, the backup cannot be opened. You can disconnect at any time in the app, and you can remove the app under your Dropbox account settings.
If you tap Connect Google Drive, Glowsince asks Google for access to its own hidden app data area in your Drive only (the drive.appdata permission). It cannot see, list or change any of your other Drive files. The backup is locked with the same password you pick, which never leaves your device, so neither Glowsince nor Google can read it. If you lose the password, the backup cannot be opened. You can disconnect at any time in the app, and you can remove Glowsince under your Google Account settings, in third-party apps and services.
Sync across your devices. If you turn on sync, Glowsince keeps your entries, routines, settings and products the same on every device where you sign in to the same Dropbox or Google Drive. You choose a sync password. Your data is locked on your device with that password before it is saved as a single file in the same private app folder described above. The password and the key made from it stay on your devices and are never sent to us, to Dropbox or to Google, so none of us can read the file. We do not run a server that stores your data and keep no copy. Turning sync off stops it on that device and leaves the file in your Dropbox or Drive for you to delete. In this version your photos stay on each device and are not synced.
Glowsince's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google access only to save and restore your backup and sync files, and we do not transfer it to anyone, use it for ads, or let people read it.
Google sign-in relay. To keep Google Drive sync and backup working without asking you to sign in again every hour, Glowsince uses a small relay service we run on Cloudflare. It exchanges Google's sign-in code for a renewable access key and renews that key when it expires. It handles only sign-in keys: it never receives your journal, your sync password or your backup files, it stores nothing and keeps no logs of your activity. The renewable key is kept on your device. Disconnecting Google Drive in the app revokes it.
Dropbox and Google Drive are trademarks of their respective owners. Glowsince is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Dropbox, Inc. or Google LLC.
3Phone notifications (optional)
If you turn on phone notifications, your browser gives Glowsince a push address. The app sends that address, your upcoming reminder times and the short reminder text to a small service we run on Cloudflare so it can deliver reminders while the app is closed. Reminders about sensitive topics can use discreet wording. Turning notifications off removes this information from that service.
4Anonymous usage counts (optional)
Glowsince can send anonymous counts of which features get used, through PostHog. These counts do not include your journal text, photos, health entries or your name, and they are not tied to a profile. You can switch them off in the app, and they are off automatically if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal or if the app knows you are under 18.
5Website visit counts
On glowsince.com, including the articles and printables, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views, which pages are read, where visitors come from, and general device and country information. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other sites, and does not build a profile of you.
If you choose "Allow" on the small notice at the bottom of a page, we also count anonymous clicks on glowsince.com, such as which articles are read to the end, when Listen is pressed, and which links to the app or to shops are clicked, along with your approximate location (country or region) worked out from your connection. This is off until you allow it, it uses a random ID stored on your device (not a cookie) that is not linked to your name, and it is never turned on if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. You can change your mind any time with "Analytics choices" in the footer, which also deletes the ID. These counts are sent to PostHog.
6Browser extension (optional)
The Glowsince Daily Check-in extension for Edge and Chrome collects no personal data and has no analytics. It stores only your reminder setting (on or off, and the time) on your device, and it sends nothing anywhere. Its links open glowsince.com, which is covered by the rest of this page.
7Fonts and hosting
The app loads fonts from Google Fonts and weather from Open-Meteo (using your city), and the site is hosted on Cloudflare. If you tap Use my location, your browser asks first, your position is rounded to about 1 kilometer on your device, and BigDataCloud turns it into a city name. Only the city is kept. Like any website, these services may see standard connection details such as your IP address when your device requests a page, font or weather report.
8How we use information
Only to run the features you ask for: reminders, charts and history, the suggested calorie target, the healthy weight check, your year in review, greetings and local weather. We do not sell your information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it to target ads.
9Shop and reorder links
Some links take you to retailers, and we may earn a commission if you buy. As an Amazon Associate, Glowsince earns from qualifying purchases. When you tap one, you leave Glowsince and the retailer's privacy policy applies. The retailer may learn that you arrived from Glowsince. We never share your journal, photos or health information with retailers.
10Your choices and rights
You can view, edit, export and delete your information in the app. "Reset" in the You page erases everything stored on this device.
California residents have the right to know what we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information. Residents of Washington, Nevada and other states with consumer health data laws have additional rights described in our Consumer Health Data Policy (in the app, under Privacy Policy). We will not treat you differently for using your rights. To make a request, email hello@glowsince.com.
11Security
We use reasonable safeguards. Because your journal lives on your device, its safety also depends on your device. Use a passcode and keep your browser up to date.
12How long we keep information
Information on your device stays until you delete it. If you use optional backup or sync, the backup and sync files live in your own Dropbox or Google Drive, and you can delete them there at any time. We keep no copy. Glowsince's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
13Not medical advice
Glowsince is a journal and not a medical device. It does not diagnose or treat anything.
14Children
Glowsince is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. People aged 13 to 17 should use Glowsince with a parent or guardian's permission, and some features are limited to adults. If you believe a child under 13 has used Glowsince, contact us and we will help remove their information.
15Contact

16Changes
If we make important changes, we will let you know in the app before they take effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
